Getting & Staying Busy!

I cannot believe January is over. My new quilting addiction is coming along nicely and I have a small charm pack collection started as well as a jelly roll, which are strips. I hope to be able to post pictures of all kinds sometime in february.
I am also taking a college class online and this will keep me busy. I actually have a paper due on Monday. Wish me luck its been a long time since my college days. The class is called "The Social Context of Mental Health and Illness" I took just one class so I do not get overloaded. In June I start a class which I know will be very interesting called "Woman and the Civil Rights Movement".
I have been tired a lot but thats just the way it goes for me. I am fortunate to have the time to sleep when I need to and it's quiet in my home. The neighbors make enough noise that I feel people living around me doing their everyday things and that comforts me. Well except when Jorge my upstairs neighbor vacuums the floor above my bed at 3:00 in the morning! :)
We had a lot of snow but we needed it and most of all the farmers need it. The weather is just crazy and the tornadoes seem to be wrecking havoc on so many people. I hope to blog some weather related topics this spring!
I have some homework to do and then off to bed.
I hope everyone had a great month!

Quilting is so relaxing!

I started quilting yesterday. I made a tote bag from valentine charm squares. I still need to do the straps and sew them on and finish the bag. I loved working with the fabric and sewing. I need to start posting my creations on my blog here.
I was at Quilters Haven and fell in love with the store. I felt right at home there and it was comforting to be surrounded by all the fabrics and finished quilts. It reminded me of my mother and nana who were both excellent seamstresses.
I purchased a good ruler and talked to Chris the owner. She explained that I could take private classes with her and I look forward to learning how to cut fabrics. Eventually I will be able to make my own unique patterns and designs. But first I plan on doing easy projects to get into the swing of things.
