Wow Time sure flies!

May is half over and I have not posted anything for a long time. So I thought I would update my progress, or lack of progress.

My queen size Aster quilt is sitting patiently in her bag waiting for me to finish her sashing.
Theo's quilt is all cut out and waiting to be put together. I used the tumbler template for his lap quilt.

I still have not found my camera's battery charger...grrr . I will just have to figure out how to post using my cell phone which takes horrible pics.

Emilee's baby quilt is waiting for quilting. I used the disappearing 9 patch in baby flannels. So sweet but I feel it looks a little to busy when all is said and done and think just using the 5 inch squares for a more simple quilt might of even looked better.  I am thinking of getting a walking foot as soon as I can afford one and quilting it my self. I fear the binding because I am having trouble doing binding. Yes I know Practice practice practice and I'll get it.
Have 3 totes waiting to be finished. All need lining material.

I am starting to collect a nice selection of fabrics, mostly in charm packs. I will be working on table runners soon and my Quilting II class with Jenny Doan on Craftsy.com has a lesson on an easy table runner with NO binding. lol

Stay tuned I might even get some pics posted soon!

Happy sewing!

Friday update.. I Sew want to sew today!

What a beautiful day it is, I love the sunshine. I will be working on tote bags today and practicing machine quilting. If I get my new darning foot on my machine of course.
Still waiting for my black jelly roll I ordered so I can sash my "Aster" queen quilt. I am so excited to get all 20 blocks sashed and then I will decide what fabric to use for my 4-6 inch border. I decided to back it with black or gold muslin. Tune in for "Aster's" progress.
I signed up for the machine quilting class in May (the April one was filled) I truly look forward to learning the correct way to machine quilt. Christine at Quilters Haven in Menominee Michigan has a beautiful shop there.
Hoping Emilee's baby quilt fabric comes today. I messed up the 4 patch squares so I will save them for another project. I am thinking of backing Emilee's quilt with Minky fabric.

I need to buy a good chair so I can sit and sew sew sew. Right now I use my kitchen chair at my machine and I cannot sit very long. I really wanted to buy a serger but a chair is more important.

Going to try some new recipes with Theo on saturday or sunday. He has told me he really is not to interested in sewing. What a wonderful boy he actually felt bad because he knows I love it so much. He does want to finish some potholders however. :)

I am hoping I feel well enough to get some chores done today after not having a very good week and not being able to do to much including sewing I feel pretty good.

I have joined a new social site called the Quilting Bee. This site has literally just started this week. I think they are on to something very nice and I hope it gets a lot of new members.

Have a wonderful weekend & God bless!

Here comes March!

Hello Friends,
February sure flew by and I am praying for an early spring! I hope everyone is staying warm & safe in all this crazy weather.  At least our temps are bearable and I can't wait to be able to open my windows and let fresh air in.

After bills are paid I will visit Quilters Haven as I need some fabric to finish my current projects. My queen "ASTER" quilt top still needs her black sashing done. I hope to finish all the layers this month! (border, backing and batting)

The next big quilt I want to do is going to be Theo's shades of blue quilt. I have some ideas and will let him pick his fabric line. Maybe will do a nine patch for that one.

I am also working on 2 baby quilts. My friends little boy Walker  just turned one recently and he is going to get a jungle theme quilt.  And one is for Emily who will make her appearance in april. I am so excited for Tammera she has her little boy Aceson and now he will be a big brother. I am making a list for the rest of the kids quilts I would like to make and being thrifty as I am I have the ideas down and its just a matter of waiting for my fabric ideas to go on sale.

I have started my "harvest moon" table runner and Genny's quilted tote bag too. Genny's bag just needs the lining fabric and straps made. I have some potholders cut out and ready to go once I get the insulated batting.

Also this month I want to get a few potholders done. My first throw I done in the log cabin quilting pattern is going to wait till I take my first machine quilting class in May. I want to learn to do it the right way on my home machine.

Have a wonderful & blessed Easter season.
